Our New Weather Station Has Arrived on Campus!

We’re excited to announce a new learning tool at St. Martin’s this year! In partnership with Johns Hopkins University, our campus now has a weather station, available for students to use and research throughout the year—and to provide valuable data to the University.
Johns Hopkins University collects data from weather stations across Maryland to better understand issues like urban heat, flooding, air pollution, and more. By analyzing neighborhood-scale data—like the information gathered at St. Martin’s—they can develop solutions to these challenges.
Our weather station arrived this summer and is up and running for use! Students and teachers can now explore the dashboard, analyze weather conditions, and incorporate real-time data into classroom projects. This partnership not only connects our school to the broader community but also gives students a unique opportunity to engage with real-world science, track changes in weather, and see data in action.
Our thanks to parishioner Anand Gnanadesikan, Professor in the Morton K. Blaustein Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences for providing our students with this learning opportunity. We look forward to sharing how their department uses this data for research.
